Nashville based Threads of Care evolved from a young teen’s experience while visiting a large urban city. As typical students, they witnessed a homeless teen sleeping in an alcove during the Christmas season. This experience left a deep mark and he and his sister were inspired to help others. Their vision evolved from a Winter Coat Drive in middle school and then again in high school, to a community outreach program for teens helping teens in need. Threads of Care is designed to inspire other teens in their local communities to get involved and make a difference by:
- Creating Awareness of Teen Homelessness
- Inspiring Teens to give back to their Communities
- Providing easy steps for Launching a High School Outreach Program
To date we have served many teens with a warm coat and living supplies. Our dream is to spread this program to many other Tennessee communities by empowering teens to take ownership of the world around them. It only takes one helping soul to make the difference.
