Hi, I am Sara. I am a senior at Franklin High School and the president of the chapter here at FHS. I joined Threads of Care as a member my sophomore year and served as the Vice President last year. Each year, I have been able to watch TOC grow and impact more and more people around our community and beyond, and it has made me so proud to be a part of it. My sophomore year, my favorite part of the week was the Threads of Care meeting! I loved making posters and organizing events to help those in my community. Junior year, I was able to be a part of and watch a large growth in the organization. There were many more events, such as the thrift shop, bake sales, clothing drives, and canned food drives. In addition, I enjoyed being able to see the increased reach of TOC as new chapters began at schools all around Middle Tennessee. Being connected with such caring and like-minded people is a truly invaluable aspect of this club. I cannot wait to see the growth and continued impact of this coming year.
I am looking forward to working with both returning and new TOC members to increase the number of people helped. Our annual Thanksgiving baskets are one of my favorite ways we help, and I cannot wait for it this year. I am sure as the year goes on, it will get even more difficult to imagine moving on to college and not being able to go to TOC meetings each week. Right now, I am focusing on how to best represent the club in our community and make this the most successful year yet!
