Homelessness is prevalent in our area; you can see that every time you go to Nashville. As sad of an issue that it is, it is almost sadder to think about the teens, people my age, who are without a home. While I can’t fully understand their situations, it helps me put my life in perspective. We do nothing to deserve the situation we are born into. It is all by chance. This is why I think it is our duty to do everything we can to help those who happen to be less fortunate than we are, especially those in our own community.
Threads of Care is one way we can do that, and that’s why I decided to join. Its commitment to serving those around us even through covid is very impressive to me. Even though there are different standards and restrictions this year, they are still coming up with alternate ways to reach everyone. With all that’s going on in the world right now, including increases in homelessness, we need to help out more than ever, and Threads of Care is ensuring that our service continues to touch others.
