I got involved with Threads of Care (TOC) my freshman year. My sister was the president, so I joined the club. When I learned what Threads of Care was, it really opened my eyes. I realized that not everyone has what I do. TOC showed me that there are people all over the world in poverty and struggling. There are people who don’t have shoes and clothes, things that I do not think twice about. I knew I wanted to help and TOC has given me the chance to do so. I am so honored to be the Vice President of the Independence High School TOC chapter. I hope that this year, I can make a difference.
In the future, I want to make the world a better place. I am starting now by being apart of TOC. I want to help the number of people in poverty diminish. Seeing the people around me being so excited to help the world has inspired me to do the same. I’m so lucky to have what I do, and I want to do everything I can to help others in need.
